PlayStation Vita Launch Game Titles Now Available for Pre-Order in the UK

Eurogamer reports, Play.Com has now listed the prices of the Playstation Vita launch games which can now be pre-ordered from the online shop. The PlayStation Vita is due to be released on the 22nd February 2012 in the UK.

“A variety of RRPs are listed – the highest is £44.99 for Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Play sells it for £40).

On the other end of the scale, Little Deviants and Reality Fighters are £18 (RRP 24.99).

Everybody’s Golf and WipEout 2048 are middle tier games, and carry a £34.99 RRP.

Meanwhile, Play.com lists the 16GB PlayStation Vita Memory Card with a RRP of £44.99, but is selling it for £40. The 8GB Memory Card is £28 (RRP £31.99). The 4GB Memory Card is £15 (RRP £17.99). Most Vita games require a Memory Card to play.”

I have to admit I am not interested in the PlayStation Vita. With the advances made in Smartphones there is little need for me to go out and invest in a handheld console, especially one with such a huge price tag (Wi-Fi Only costing £229.99 and WiFi and 3G retailing at £279.99 in the UK). Add onto this the top titles being upwards of £40 this is one gaming experience I will do without. However, I am sure many die hard Sony fans will disagree with me on this one.

SONY’s New Handheld Gets Launch Date

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

In more release date news, SONY has finally announced the release date for the PS VITA!

“The system will launch in North America, Australia, Latin America and Europe on February 22, 2012.

Vita hits Japan later this year on December 17.”

Although some might be disappointed that the VITA won’t be available for the holiday season, it seems strange to me that it is even releasing so soon! I hope SONY knocks this one out of the park, so to speak. The PSP didn’t have much appeal to me, although I probably won’t be buying the VITA either.

Awesome Live Action Playstation Trailer; All Your Favorite Characters Come To Life

This advertisement for Playstation (longliveplay) is probably the best one I have EVER seen. If you ever wondered what your favorite video game characters like Kratos, Cole McGrath, Solid Snake, and Nathan Drake thought about you, now you’ll know:

This was very well made and very entertaining. Sony’s ad campaign has really stepped up a notch. I would really enjoy a series of these commercials.

PS Vita Battery Peripheral Confirmed, Proves That I Can See The Future

If you read the article I wrote a few days ago where I voiced my concern about the PS Vita’s battery life, you now know I can predict the future.

Speaking to IGN, SCEA Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida confirmed that, among many other peripherals, the PS Vita will have an external battery. IGN says:

In our interview with SCEA Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida, we finally received confirmation that Sony is in fact developing an external battery for the Vita. Planning on playing your Vita for an extended trip? Toss down some money for this attachment.

Did I tell you, or did I tell you? Now you have proof I know what I’m talking about! Check out the actual video from IGN with the link below.

PS Vita’s Battery Life Will Only Be 3 to 5 Hours

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Game Informer reports:

According to Sony, the system’s battery last for between three and five hours during regular gameplay. According to the Japanese gaming site Andriasang, this means “keeping the screen at factory setting, Bluetooth off, using headphones, and not using any network features.”

They also said:

“The battery life for media usage is a bit better. The Vita battery will last for about five hours of video playback and nine hours of music playback. A complete charge of the battery will take about 2 and a half hours.”

What does this all mean? Obviously, the Vita has quite a bit of goodies running at the same time. It definitely puts a damper on the overall performance of a system when the battery life is only 3 to 5 hours after a 2 and a half hour charge. Personally, I find it rather ridiculous. Players are going to have to sit for 2 and a half hours before they can play, and then only get 3 hours of playtime? After that, we have to charge the Vita again for another 2 hours.

I think it’s about time these handheld console get bigger batteries. Lifespan is a really poignant issue in today’s market, and if one console can’t keep up, they get crushed. I don’t know what to expect with the Vita until I get a hands on, but I’m hoping Sony will at least TRY to fix this issue before it releases. I wouldn’t count on that though. Expect an after-market battery peripheral a few months after it’s release.

Q and A with Marc DeBlasi

Question – So what is it we will be seeing, exactly, from Immersed Gaming?

Here at Immersed Gaming, we have a diverse set of views, opinions, and entertainment preferences. This means you will see things such as video game reviews, daily video game news, movie news, movie reviews, editorials on any subject, and much more. We may be called “Immersed Gaming” but we are much more than our title shows. This is why our phrase is “Immerse Yourself.” It can apply to anything, and everything.

Q – Who will be writing all these different stories and posts?

As of right now, the only person handling the news-blog is myself. However, this does not mean you will get half the content of other news sites. I am extremely capable of handling the work of the blog that would usually involve several people. In addition, in the future if all goes well, we may hire other contributors to aid with the work load. Time will tell.

Q – Why should I visit this site? What makes you stand out among the thousands of other video game blogs out there?

This is an easy question. We do not claim to be anything we are not. We certainly aren’t the first people to have dreams of hitting it big on the internet, and we won’t be the last. We recognize that this is a significant challenge that few have overcome. Allow me to address the first part of the question first. Why should you visit this site? We have a team of extremely talented individuals who have ideas and abilities that set them apart from what they do from their peers. We also have tried, and failed previously in creating this company. However, you see us here today, better than ever. What does this mean? First of all, we have determination. We will not let this company fail. It is as simple as that. We have passion. Each of us is in charge of a certain medium of the company because we know what we must do. We each have our own talents in certain areas, and we have the fire in our hearts to persevere. To put it simply, we aren’t here to fail. We have put a lot of time and effort into this, and we will see it through.

Q – Where do you see yourselves in 4 years?

Well, first let me say 4 years is a length of time in which anything can happen. To be honest, I cannot say for sure what will happen in that time. However, I can say, from what I see from my partners, and in myself, that we want to succeed. Therefore, if we make the right steps and do the right things, I hope this company will play some sort of significant part in the video game industry of today. Hopefully attending different video game conferences for press coverage, maybe being a provider of news instead of a second-hand supplier, so to speak. I would like our company to grow a bit more, having more members and more things to bring to the table. Hopefully, we will be recognized for the type of work we do and the quality of it. I think that is fair enough.

Q – Why a news-blog, live stream, and youtube channel?

Well to start, I came up with the game plan for our company my self. I call it the “Big 3,” which are, of course, the blog, stream, and channel. Personally speaking, I have had many youtube accounts over the years, and I feel I know Youtube and how it’s users “tick” fairly well. I also feel I know how to advertise and business in a professional and positive way. In my opinion, I believe the “Big 3″ is the best way to spread ourselves across the internet, to the people in whose hands our company lies. However, I also have the firm believe that the amount of content you have is irrelevant. Only the quality of your work is what counts. That is what we try to do here. We try to have quality work, to inform and entertain the people.

Q – Anything further to add?

The news blogging will begin shortly. The only thing holding us off at the moment is awaiting the purchase of our domain name. This will happen soon, however it cannot be done immediately. I can say that not only will the news be coming soon, but also entertaining videos on Youtube and interactive live streaming as well.

I would also like to add that there will be a certain “formula” for the blog, aside from the daily news blogging. I will be doing “Throwback Thursday’s” every third Thursday of each month where I will review an older game or movie, most likely retro movies. This is only one of many “theme” days and events we will be having, which you will all hear about later on. I don’t want to give away too much too soon.

If you have any questions regarding the company, web-pages, or anything related, send them to (immersedgaming@gmail.com)
