Gameinformer reports that Binary Domain has a new release date. Initially SEGA’s new action title was due for a February 7 release but has now been put back 3 weeks. Binary Domain will now be releasing for both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 February 28. As a token for their sincere apologies Sega has presented a new trailer featuring some of the games main characters and action sequences.
Be looking forward to this one coming very soon, unfortunately not as soon as expected but good things come to those who wait.
Gameinformer has given us a delightful bunch of screens of the highly anticipated Hitman: Absolution. These latest screenshots show a number of key elements in the combat that will feature in Absolution that may not seem so familiar to previous Hitman games. Check them out see what you think and try and imagine the intense gameplay we’ll be seeing in upcoming footage and trailers in the near future. IO Interactive has an expected release date within 2012.
Mortal Kombat ‘Komplete’ Edition has been announced. Gameinformer reports that both Warner Bros. and developer NetherRealm are bringing an all in one package to both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 February 28.
Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition not only features the entire 2011 game, but also all its DLC and more. The DLC itself includes Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy Krueger, as well as 15 skins and three Fatalities (Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile). The Komplete Edition also offers digital downloads of the Mortal Kombat: Songs Inspired By the Warriors album and the infamous 1995 Mortal Kombatfilm.
Although many MK fans would have purchased the Mortal Kombat Season Pass months back and already claimed thousands of victories online with all 4 DLC characters this is a pretty neat package for newcomers to the game. It doesn’t match up to the likes of what MVC3 had when revealing the ‘Ultimate’ MVC3.
Xbox Live Arcade is bringing a handful of top titles this February according to Gamesradar. A recently leaked trailer has shown that XBLA House Party is set for a return with titles such as Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, Warp, Nexuiz and I Am Alive which are all looking fantastic. Last year we saw XBLA proving successful with its releases of the HD remake of Beyond Good & Evil and Torchlight. The 360 will have these titles on a timed exclusive so eventually we’ll be seeing them creep up on the PSN sometime later in year.
I’m looking forward to at least trialling some of these titles; I’m known to be an arcade junky and will consider the odd few to be bought I’m sure. Just like the Summer of Arcade we are hoping to see a little bonus for players who purchase the full set of titles released within the period but no details of that have occurred just yet. Hopefully more details will arise as soon as the official announcement takes place very soon.
GameInformer reports that Namco Bandai have announced release dates for its forthcoming 3D Beat ‘Em Up exclusive to Nintendo’s 3DS. Tekken 3D Prime Edition will be heading its way out to North America February 14, 2012. European release date is February 17.
Tekken has a rich 16 year legacy, with the franchise first appearing on the Nintendo platforms in 2001 with Tekken Advance for Game Boy Advance,” says Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing, Namco Bandai Games America. “With the unique abilities of the Nintendo 3DS, we’re able to show the characters of the epic franchise in a way that has never been seen before, and fans are going to love how Tekken’s return to Nintendo systems has taken the series to new levels.”
The perfect date for Valentine’s Day. Tekken 3DS Prime edition will truly push the 3DS’ compatibility with stunning graphics featuring 60 frame per-second gameplay. The full cast of characters are there and there is the inclusion of street pass to exchange in game Tekken cards. Tekken was the mother of all 3D fighters and using the power of the 3DS it can prove worthy of that on such a device.
According to GameInformer, Robert Bowling has revealed that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will be getting its first wave of DLC in January. Although Activision hasn’t said exactly what we are getting with this first bundle, Bowling has teased MW3 fans that the DLC will include Spec Ops missions and a whole lot of variety.
Bowling says the content will be arriving on Xbox Live on January 24. If past installments of Call of Duty’s DLC are any indication, PS3 and PC players will have to sit this one out for a few weeks as Xbox 360 users bask in the limited-time exclusivity.
He made the statement on the Call of Duty Elite Roll Call show (requires registration), where he also spoke about how great it is having three studios (Infinity Ward, Raven, and Sledgehammer) working on the game.
This is all good news for Call of Duty fans but will it live up to the standards of what we’ve witnessed with Battlefields ‘Back to Karkand’? Infinity Ward have only ever released map packs in the previous Modern Warfare titles. Maybe this time with added Spec Ops missions plus the ‘variety’ in which Bowling spoke of could be very exciting not just for the multiplayer community but those who enjoy other non-competitive game modes.
GameInformer reports that the new Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 for Playstation Vita is more than just a handheld port of its original smash hit which shredded our console pads. Capcom is bringing a large number of brand new features to the eagerly anticipated PS Vita and without a doubt it’ll test the Vita’s ability to not only handle the rapid visuals but to also withstand such manic button bashing or (screen bashing) as one of the new features is touch screen combos! The trailer bares all.
Here is the list of features EXCLUSIVE to PS Vita;
– special touch-screen controls and moves
– the full Heroes and Heralds mode
– Wi-Fi online play against anyone in the world
– full spectator mode for watching matches online
– the ability to save, play, and analyze replays on Vita
– content sharing and trading through the Vita’s NEAR mode (similar to the 3DS’s local sharing technology)
– the ability to share purchased DLC content between your PS3 and Vita
– being able to use your Vita as PS3 controller to take advantage of the touch-screen controls
I’ve been a fan of beat ‘em ups for years and MVC3 was one of the finer fighters I have ever played but portable gaming to me really is a step back after seeing the intense visuals on a big screen. If you’re willing to pay the extra dollars for the 3G added PS Vita then Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 on the move will be a blast but having the standard WiFi PS Vita I’d stick with console versions and use my money on true Vita exclusives.
Rockstar has confirmed suspicions that the L.A. Noire Complete Edition (set to release for the PC November 8th) will also be releasing on console.
“The Complete Edition includes the game and all previously released downloadable content, outfits, and weapons so far: “Nicholson Electroplating” Arson case, “Reefer Madness” Vice case, “The Consul’s Car” Traffic case, “The Naked City” Vice case , “A Slip of the Tongue” Traffic case, and The Badge Pursuit Challenge.”
The console version will release November 15 in North America and November 18 everywhere else. Just in time for me to finally buy the game! Maybe it’s a good thing I waited.
“The content is titled “RAAM’s Shadow” and promises “more than three hours” of gameplay, six new multiplayer characters, the Chocolate Weapon Set and an additional 250 achievement points.”
“RAAM’s Shadow” is set before the events of the original Gears of War, and puts players in the shoes of Zeta squad lead by Michael Barrick (from the Gears of War comics), Lt. Minh Young Kim (Gears 1) and Tai Kaliso (Gears 2), and a new female, Alicia Valera. Players will eventually get to play as General RAAM, the Locust leader players fight at the end of the first game. “RAAM’s Shadow” costs 1,200 Microsoft Points and will be out December 13.”
You might remember General RAAM from Gears of War 1. You know, the huge, mean dude that liked to break people in half and attack you with the Krill? Yea, well he’s back an you can play as him. Must I describe the epicness?
In more release date news, SONY has finally announced the release date for the PS VITA!
“The system will launch in North America, Australia, Latin America and Europe on February 22, 2012.
Vita hits Japan later this year on December 17.”
Although some might be disappointed that the VITA won’t be available for the holiday season, it seems strange to me that it is even releasing so soon! I hope SONY knocks this one out of the park, so to speak. The PSP didn’t have much appeal to me, although I probably won’t be buying the VITA either.
