Lego Minecraft Project Has Passed the Lego Review

It seems we’re getting Lego everything these days. I’m not complaining! It’s great to see Lego adaptations of great movie sagas such as Lego Star Wars which came to both physical and game platform. It’s no wonder why Minecraft fans and Lego fans alike want to see the two combine in the most fitting way. Minecraft is built just like you would with Lego. It’s all blocks!

Well Gamesradar reports that the Lego Minecraft project is moving forward after official approval. Minecraft developer Mojang had asked fans to sign a petition on the Lego Cuusoo website urging for a chance to see Lego and Minecraft build together. 10 000 supporters was all that was needed and it has surpassed that very amount.

The post went live today on the Cuusoo website, which broke the news: “We’re happy to announce that the Minecraft project on LEGO CUUSOO has passed the LEGO review and we are now developing a concept that celebrates the best aspects of building with the LEGO system and in Minecraft,” the posting said, though it warned eager fans that this wasn’t something that would be accomplished overnight. “We can’t wait to show it to you—but it isn’t ready just yet. These things take time, so we appreciate your patience.”

So hey this will take you away from all those screens and build a real physical, small scale Lego set of the world of Minecraft. I totally contradicted myself in the above when I mentioned “It’s no wonder why” I’m completely uncertain if core fans of Minecraft will actually head out there and grab a bundle and work on real building blocks of Minecraft. Or whether the conventional audience of children understand the Minecraft Lego hybrid in comparison to other Lego ideas. 10 000 + say I totally don’t have a clue on this one.
